What is Dual Language Immersion?
Riverside Elementary has a Spanish Immersion program for students in 1st-6th grades. Students enrolled in the program are taught their core subjects (Math, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies) for half of the day in Spanish and half of the day in English. We follow a two-teacher model with the students changing classrooms in the middle of the school day. Students are selected for the program in the Spring, with priority given to siblings already in the immersion program and students living within our boundaries. If you are outside of our boundaries and would like to apply for the Spanish Immersion program, we will begin accepting Spanish Immersion Application forms in January of the calendar year you'd like to have your student start at our school.
